Why epilamise? 

For a safe surface property control. Properties such as water repellency or oil repellency are generated by a change in surface tension. In doing so, lubricants, oils and cooling agents are prevented from surfacing and are kept at places where needed for a long time.

How does the epilamising process work?

The clean parts will be dipped and sprayed. The HFE liquid will quickly vaporise. A nearly invisible, very thin layer of fluoropolymer coating will remain. This process takes only few minutes. The coating layer can vary from thick to thin depending on the solvent's fluoropolymer share. The parts will be dry afterwards and are ready for instant processing.

Which parts are suitable for epilamising?

Almost all surfaces made of metal, glass, ceramics and plastics.

Typical applications: Precision bearings and mechanical clockworks.

Stability and life cycle: Constant thermal resistance is guaranteed from -60°C up to +175°C. Mechanical abrasion resistance is provided at normal handling, packaging and transport. However, transporting the epilamised parts as bulk goods is not recommended.  

The coating may be removed mechanically by grinding or washing up with HFE liquid.

The coating's service life is very long because of non-aging properties remaining for decades.
